Name: Ellie Ward
Role: Facilitator

Hello Power Living family! My name is Ellie.

I believe yoga is a lifelong journey. My intention is to offer my students an experience of connection, presence, and peace by journeying into themselves, bonding with their community, and developing a sense of wonder and interconnectedness with the natural world. In my Vinyasa classes, I offer flowing, moving meditation linked to breath and themed around the authentic energy of the spirit we feel in that moment. I hope you feel release, mind-body harmony, rhythm and calm. Join me for yin, and I invite you to find a softening in your mind, body, heart and spirit, as well as a sense of safety that invites you deeper into your own presence and spiritual growth. And no matter where we connect, I love to meet and care for you exactly as you are.

Moving my body has always been a part of my identity and how I have processed my experience. I grew up in California; I was raised in the Bay Area and I moved to San Diego to attend college at USD, where I competed for USD’s NCAA Division 1 tennis team. Being a competitive tennis player was my whole existence until a back injury changed my life. A doctor recommended yoga, and I found myself at my first class in 2010, nervous and unsure. Yoga became the one thing that helped my recovery long-term, and slowly over time as my body healed, my mind and spirit started to calm as well. Yoga became my passion and I completed my teacher training in 2015 at Prana Yoga Center in San Diego, California with Gerhard Gessner and Sara Deakin, and I have been teaching ever since. Since then, I have also completed Power Vinyasa (C2 Intensive) Training with CorePower Yoga in California as well as Yin Yoga Training with YogaTime, here in Bondi.

My teaching style is influenced by my current spiritual inspirations and learnings, passion for flow, athletic background, love of dance and care for learning about my students. Back in California, my teaching experience included Bird Rock Yoga, Trilogy Sanctuary and finally CorePower Yoga, the largest family of yoga studios in the US. In 2022, my partner and I relocated to Australia. I now call Bondi Beach home, where I am grateful to respect the stunning beauty of Bidjigal, Birrabirragal and Gadigal land. I would love to see you in class at Power Living!
