Name: Hayley Driscoll
Role:  Facilitator

In 2007 Hayley was living in New York pursuing a career in Musical Theatre when she first stepped into the Bikram Yoga furnace. Getting into the hot room soon became her number one priority. The focus, sweat and intensity of the practice enabled her to balance and cope with the hectic pace of NYC.

In 2010 she moved to London to improve her work/ life balance, though it soon became clear that yoga (and the possibility of teaching yoga) inspired her more than the stage.

Theatre work made her unbearably anxious, especially after the birth of her daughter and it was the Yoga that helped her keep it together.

She chose to go on Jimmy Barkan’s Level 1 Heated Yoga training in 2014, sticking to her love of the Bishnu Ghosh lineage.

Hayley and her family moved back to Australia in 2015 and soon retrained with Jimmy Barkan completing his level 2/3 vinyasa training. Since then she has trained with Sarah Powers, Duncan Peak and most recently Yogarupa Rod Stryker.

Hayley’s classes are renound for being physically demanding with a high emphasis on yogic philosphy and how it can make life sweeter in every possible way. She hopes to inspire people on their journey inward with loving friendliness and courage.

Getting to know the crew:

What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Bhujangasana (cobra) it has been my answer to back pain. I will often throughout the day drop to my belly and make like a snake!

What’s the best part of being in the PLAY community?
The mentorship and support I get from the other teachers. Being a little fish in a big pond is exactly what I need right now.

My toughest learning experience has been…
Becoming a mum and being unable to run away when things get tough.
